Projecto Challenge
Ramos Ferreira Group signs protocol with Agostinho Neto University and presents the "Projecto Challenge" artwork
Ramos Ferreira Group has formalized the signing of a protocol with Agostinho Neto University, in Angola, for the development of the Projecto Challenge, an innovative initiative carried out in collaboration with Wedo, which combines sustainability, art, and community.
The "Projecto Challenge" was born with the purpose of transforming construction waste from large-scale projects, such as the Pedro Maria Tonha Pedalé Hospital Complex, into works of urban art created in partnership with local artists and the Academy. In addition to the artistic aspect, the initiative seeks to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability, stimulate innovation, and inspire young people to adopt responsible practices in the use of resources.
The first artwork resulting from this project represents Mabobolo Zindunga, a figure of great cultural significance among the Kongo people, considered the leader of the Bakama. Sculpted using recycled materials, the piece symbolizes the connection between tradition and modernity, incorporating values of healing, protection, and wisdom, while honoring the healthcare professionals who dedicate their lives daily to caring for communities.
This creation, installed at the Pedro Maria Tonha Pedalé Hospital Complex, demonstrates how art can be a powerful vehicle for transformation, converting waste into elements with meaning, value, and aesthetics. At the same time, it reinforces the importance of preserving Angolan cultural heritage, environmental awareness, and the role of the arts as an engine for social change.
With the "Projecto Challenge", Ramos Ferreira Group, in partnership with Agostinho Neto University and Wedo, reaffirms its commitment to its sustainability strategy, aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and integrated into Project Earth. More than a symbolic gesture, it is a real commitment to empowering change: creating a positive impact, raising awareness in communities, and fostering a more sustainable future through education, creativity, and cooperation.
