Inauguration of the Pedro Maria Tonha “Pedalé” Hospital Complex, Angola
The General of the Army Pedro Maria Tonha “Pedalé” Hospital Complex was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, establishing itself as one of the most modern and comprehensive hospital facilities in the country.
The Ramos Ferreira Group is proud to have been part of this landmark project, contributing decisively to the realization of an infrastructure that marks a milestone in the modernization and strengthening of the national hospital network — providing the Angolan population with a facility equipped to meet the most demanding challenges in healthcare.
With over 42,000 m² of built area and a capacity of 145 beds, the Pedalé Hospital Complex places Angola at the forefront of treating high-complexity diseases, including robotic surgery, organ transplants, oncology, and stroke treatment. The infrastructure also includes a helipad, a training center for robotic surgery, laboratories, radiotherapy rooms, and many other specialized facilities.
Ramos Ferreira was present from the very beginning, following every stage of the project’s execution and ensuring the implementation of essential technical systems, including medium and low voltage electrical installations, HVAC, telecommunications, Building Management System (BMS), security, water and sanitation systems, and elevators.
These solutions were designed and executed to ensure efficiency, sustainability, comfort, and safety, in accordance with the highest engineering standards.
More than an engineering project, this hospital stands as a symbol of hope and progress for public health in Angola — and as a source of great pride for the entire Ramos Ferreira team, whose commitment, dedication, and professionalism were key to the project’s success.
The inauguration of the Pedro Maria Tonha “Pedalé” Hospital Complex symbolizes not only a strategic investment in healthcare in Angola but also the Ramos Ferreira Group’s commitment to developing engineering solutions of excellence that contribute to improving the quality of life in the communities it serves.
“This project is a direct reflection of our team’s hard work, resilience, and sense of mission. We take great pride in seeing the Ramos Ferreira name associated with a project that will leave a lasting legacy for healthcare in Angola.”
The Ramos Ferreira Group thus reaffirms its dedication to bringing innovation, know-how, and sustainability to infrastructures that make a difference and support the advancement of healthcare systems in Angola and across all markets where it operates.
